# About this conservation room

> About Forever Glow Aesthetics — Forever Glow Aesthetics is a personal research site about skin repair and aging. Read why its conservation-room idea matters and where its remit ends.

An interest in appearance, a preference for close inspection, and very little patience for a permanently flawless finish.

## An extravagant name

Forever Glow Aesthetics gives a rather extravagant wish a place to be examined. “Glow” sounds effortless; “forever” removes the deadline. Together they imply that a beautiful appearance might become a settled condition. I distrust that image of a surface with all its future work complete.

I am drawn instead to the conservation room, where an object can remain valued while its material changes. A repair does not have to disappear to be interesting. Sometimes the seam is the most revealing thing in the room.

That imperfect version of preservation suits my sympathies. The pleasure of looking closely is that admiration can survive a complication. A research result can become more interesting when it loses a grand claim.

## The attraction of repair

In the published research on GHK-Cu, my interest in repair meets something precise. The [tissue-remodeling review](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18644225/) made the subject feel more like maintenance than polishing. The [skin-regeneration review](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4508379/) describes a tissue matrix with more materials in it than the familiar word collagen suggests.

The awkward details appeal to me. The [hair study of a GHK-containing combination](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4969472/) is interesting partly because its exact preparation complicates a simple ingredient story. A preference for a satisfying explanation cannot decide what happened in an experiment.

The meaning assigned to a result is a persistent curiosity of mine. The work can be worth spending time with even when an attractive claim has to become smaller.

## A research site

Aesthetics is an editorial title here: Forever Glow Aesthetics is not a clinic, a med spa or a shop. No treatment appointments are available; medicines cannot be prescribed or products supplied through this site.

My fascination with the published research is the reason these pages exist. It is not medical advice. Nothing on these pages can assess a person's skin or settle an individual treatment decision.

The [correspondence page](/contact) explains the present limits on contact. The [reading list](/references) is available to anyone who wants to spend longer with the experiments.

At Forever Glow Aesthetics I linger over published research on skin repair; this is an editorial site rather than a treatment business, and nothing here is medical advice.
